Stone picker – the joint equipment for cleaning of fields

A stone picker is an agricultural machine used to collect stones and rocks from the surface of farmland. These boulders can damage farming tools, degrade soil quality, and impede cultivation. Removing them effectively, a stone picker allows farmers to clean up fields for planting and harvesting. It’s typically mounted to a tractor and dragged across the field. As it progresses, rotating tines or rakes raise stones from the soil and channel them into a conveyor system. The conveyor moves the stones to a collection hopper or storage bin in the back of the machine. As soon as the stones fill up the hopper, they can be discharged at a specified location. That process helps to clear large swathes of land quickly and with less manual labour. Stone pickers are especially helpful in areas with a stone-rich soil.
